Former minister of finance of Brazil. Past president of the Central Bank of Brazil. Former special consultant and chief negotiator for external debt affairs of the Ministry of Finance. Former executive director of the World Bank. Former executive director of the Inter-American Development Bank. Former director of the Center for Transnational Companies of the United Nations. Former director of the Department of International Economics and Social Affairs of the UN. Former senior researcher with the Institute of Applied Economic Research (IPEA) and the National Council for Economic Development of the Ministry of Planning. Former chairman of the Board of Directors of Itaú-Unibanco. Former chairman of the international advisory board of Itaú-Unibanco.

Economist. Was or is a member of the board of directors or advisory board of various multinational conglomerates (e.g., British American Tobacco, Rolls Royce, Thomson Reuters etc.).

Author of scores of articles on economics published in Brazil and abroad.

Wilson Mirza Abraham (in memoriam)

Lawyer, consultant and legal opinion author specialized in economic and corporate criminal law. Member of the Rio de Janeiro State Chapter of the Brazilian Bar Association (OAB/RJ).

Former dean of criminal lawyers in Brazil, with five decades of professional experience. During this period, he worked on some of the most important cases of political and economic crimes in Brazil, including defending former President João Goulart, Rio de Janeiro Governor Leonel Brizola and the anthropologist Darcy Ribeiro, among other important public figures.

He is the subject of the chapter “Wilson Mirza e a democracia destituída” (“Wilso Mirza and democracy overthrown”), written by Thais Soares Kronemberger, Barbara Goulart Lopes and Joana Carols Bezerra, published in the book “Os advogados e a ditadura de 1964: A defesa dos perseguidos políticos no Brasil” (“Lawyers and the dictatorship of 1964: Defense of the politically persecuted in Brazil”), organized by Fernandoe Sá, Oswaldo Munteal and Paulo Emílio Martins, pp. 176-193. Assy Mirza Abranches

Member of the Advisory Board of the Center for Public Prosecutors of the State of Rio de Janeiro (CEPROJUS).

Baccalaureate of Law from Rio de Janeiro Federal University (UFRJ) Law School.
Was an attorney with the Rio de Janeiro State Prosecutor’s Office for over 30 years before retiring.

Was the first woman president of the Rio de Janeiro State Public Prosecutors’ Association (AMPERJ).

Former member of the board of civil service examiners of the Rio de Janeiro State Prosecutor’s Office.

Former representative of the Rio de Janeiro State Prosecutor’s Office with Assemblies that advised on the drafting of the 1988 Brazilian Constitution.

Former member of the Executive Board of the Center for Public Prosecutors of the State of Rio de Janeiro (CEPROJUS)

Recognized with the Merit Award for Public Service by the Rio de Janeiro State Legislative Assembly (Resolution 636/1990).

Awarded the Collar of Merit by the Rio de Janeiro State Prosecutor’s Office (1989) and Rio de Janeiro State Public Prosecutors’ Association (1995).

Former member of the Public Defender’s Office of the former State of Guanabara.
